Winter has been a bit of a bust this year, and it's little wonder that coats and snow pants are $5 at Walmart now. A few days ago, I saw snow in the forecast, so I scheduled a ski lesson for Child #2 since he's been asking forever for it. As it turned out, there was no new snow (I probably jinxed it . . . should have washed my car instead) but we went anyway. After a few rounds on the bunny slope, my confidence was at an all-time high, so Child #1 and I went on the ski lift. As we were going up he let me know that Long Mozy was closed so we only had intermediate and advanced options. I had never done anything intermediate before, but I figured I would be fine, especially when I got off the ski lift so gracefully. I soon found out that the snow on the super steep slope was either icy or like frozen croutons, neither of which made it easy for me to figure out switchbacks or a slow enough pizza stance.
